- Mrs Weaver said she had a ‘glorious time’
A great-grandmother has become the oldest person in Britain to ride a Segway at the age of 98. Gladys Weaver was joined by relatives at Go Segway in Exeter, Devon, to celebrate her birthday. Not to miss out, the pensioner, who lives in Bristol, was among the first to take a ride on the Segway to the delight of her family of all generations.
‘Gladys the Great Gran had a brilliant time. We had four generations of the same family all riding segways – it was great.’
Segways are a great leveller because they put everything on an even keel.
Gladys must be one of the oldest people in the world to have ridden a Segway. You think if she could do it, anyone can do it.
Paul at Go Segway said ‘it was an honour and privilege to have Gladys on board with us today’
